Because the hinge can start to lock up and break the lid or another part, if you just replace the broken parts. This is how a shop should do the work since they can't have the unit return because they didn't get it right.
Hi I have a problem with my Samsung Series 3 17.3" Notebook (NP300E7A)
I have had this laptop for years and no real problems but all of a sudden this morning I went to close the lid gently as i always do and a plastic hook looking thing snapped and flew across the room it is from the bottom of the screen where the hinge is on the left side (I think it protects the hinge or something)
The bottom of the screen casing where the front and back meet now has a gap of about the thickness of a pound coin on the one side iv tried gently pushing it back together but it just clicks out again.
The screen itself (display) is fine no change in colour or picture however the whole lid wobbles on the left side and and there are now cracks at each side of the front hook thing on the same side and the lid will not close easily I managed to close it but reopened it as it was askew and was worried it would break something
As you can probably tell I'm useless and the most technical thing i know is how to change the battery (brother does everything else)
I just need to know what parts to get for him to install when he got time
Thanks in advance
