Do I have HD?

by SkipChaser82 / November 24, 2006 10:05 AM PST

Hooked up my new Panasonic Plasma. I ordered digital cable through my provider and that is obviously working. But I don't think I have HD...the HD channels all look good, but not outstanding and they all have grey bars at the top and bottom of the screen....I seem to remember that that indicated you weren't watching a HD broadcast on a HD channel.

And if it ain't working....any ideas on why not?

Thanks

A couple of things...

1) Are you subscribed to HD service? Can't see HD without an HD feed. Digital cable isn't the same as high definition. You may need to upgrade as an optional extra. If so, it will be worth it.

2) Panasonic model number? Check your operators manual to see exactly what it says is the resolution/s provided. Read the set up instructions carefully. Even if you are getting HD from your provider & the Panny is HD (that is - offering 720 &/or 1080), if everything isn't set up quite right, you could be crippling the signal by one little detail not being set correctly.

Make a call to the Dish network and get there new 211 system, Then add basic service the hi-def and VOOM package only $15.00 extra per month Note when they install your system the supply only componit vidio cables So you should buy a h.d.m.i. cable from box to the t.v.Also you will receive your network channels for free or you can add a outside antenna network channels will lood great but the satellate hi-def channels have awsome programming Discovery h.d. theater alone in worth the fee steweeee

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
