Answer
Re: DNS not found
Jun 9, 2013 7:59PM PDT

You provide a lot of irrelevant information in your diagnostics, and you forget the relevant part, and that is what IP-address you use for the DNS-server.

http://www.mediacollege.com/computer/network/dns.html tells how to find it in Windows XP. For other versions of Windows it's somewhat different.

So please tell more.

Ip address
Jun 10, 2013 1:06AM PDT

My laptop is configured to obtain a ip address automatically, apparently setting the router to factory default has solve the issue, but i believe the problem lies with my laptop.the problem initially occured at my school, and my laptop is kind of temparament, god knows when it will happen again. Is there anyway to prevent this issue?like changing the dns-something to google-something lol

I'm going with no.

Why? Because of how the web, dns works. You could try setting the DNS entry yourself but are you seeing what I'm seeing? That is, today's newer users are wanting this stuff to work all the time, without any failure. I'm guessing they are new to the internet.

But why not try setting the DNS to something google's DNS?
