samsung hl-s5686w "universal remote"

I'm trying to get it to bond with my POS Motorola DCH70 Cable box.

Anyone pair these two items before?

I do know that there are a limited number of devices that are supported. If it's a newer box, the remote may not be programmed with the code bank necessary to operate the cable box. More often, cable boxes can pair with TVs, and other options, such as a Harmony Remote, may also be a solution.
