DLNA with tversity server

Dec 17, 2008 10:10AM PST

I am having a hard time getting the TV to play media served by TVERSITY (http://www.tversity.com/) Their server is DLNA certified, and my other DLNA devices dont have any problem with it.

The error I get on my TV is "Unrecognized File Format" I know that the connection is good because it can display the folders and file properties (even duration of videos accurately)

The software provided by Samsung works (from the same computer using a different port)

Please help with this. I know a lot of people on here and AVSForum are having similar issues.

One more thing - I dont think this has anything to do with the codecs and video files like most posts out there are telling. It is a Picture (.JPEG) that I am unable to get to show. The same image works from the same computer using Samsung software. I read that there is a problem with the header recognition (which btw seems to tbe only reasonable explantion - unless you have something else). Apparently the guys at TVERSITY are looking for some help from samsung and a whole bunch of customers will benefit. The thread is at

I took one of those non displaying .JPEG files and used IRFANVIEW to re-encode it to some .JPG file. The owner tells me that file did display.

Maybe some will call that a failure or success. I may never know.
