Just gave minidlna a try on my laptop with Fedora 10 installed. All I changed in the minidlna.conf file was to specify the directory containing my media files. This program works great with my 55A950. Very fast and no problems with on screen navigation. If the files are in a TV supported format, they play. Hope the author continues to add features. This is the way software is suppose to work.
I eventually found a dlna server that supports FF/REV/Pause for samsung tv.
It's minidlna https://sourceforge.net/projects/minidlna/
dropping a line to let everybody know it.
Tested on a le40b650.
