I'm watching the olympic diving and I just have to ask if Rochelle Konkel is related?

Hi, MK.

She's probably very distantly related, but note her name is "Kunkel." Actually, so was my families way back -- my late father did some geneological work after he retired, and traced the family (and name) back to a Michael Kunkel who was a farmer in the easternmost part of what was East Prussia and is now part of Poland (historically, it's gone back and forth between those two countries for centuries). he must have gotten ticked off at the family, as in one census (they were 10 years apart) he was "Michael Kunkel," and thereafter hew was "Michael Konkel."

That's probably a lot more than you ever wanted to know about the Konkel/Kunkel family! Wink
