Northern California-based Sonic Solutions said Oct. 8 that it completed its acquisition of DivX LLC, the San Diego-based maker of video compression software.

The $326 million stock and cash transaction was first announced June 2.

A Sonic spokesman said the ?vast majority? of DivX?s 357 employees have joined Sonic. Sonic intends to keep DivX?s San Diego building space, he added.

Sonic is based in Novato, Calif., north of San Francisco. The company also owns the Roxio brand of software products.
