dissappering email notes

Sometimes I accidently hit a button(s) [which buttons? I dont know] which causes everything to vanish. I would like to remedy that. Any ideas?

Thanks, Brian

- which email program (like Outlook Express, Outlook 97, Thunderbird, Eudora Mail, Incredimail, etc)?
- 'email notes' = email messages?
- what screen are you on when you type this fatal button, key or command?
- 'everything' vanishes? You get a totally blank screen? Or does 'something' stay maybe?
- so: what disappears from what?
- assuming Outlook Express, did you check Deleted Items folder?

Im using Yahoo. I guess it doesnt really matter where I am, because its some key or combination of keys I accidently hit that causes everything Ive typed to go blank inside the space Im typing in.

I think it may have something to do with the key between Ctrl and Alt, which is the key with the microspoft flag on it. Can I disable that, maybe? Im pretty sure Im hitting something (or more than one thing) on the lower left hand part of the keyboard.

I know that sometimes I can right-click, then click "undo" to get it back, but oftentimes, I cannot.

There are shortcuts to the CUT, COPY, and PASTE commands in the EDIT menu. Ctrl + X = Cut, Ctrl + C = Copy, and Ctrl + V = Paste. You may be hitting the X key while holding down the Ctrl key. This will cut the text that you typed in.

ack! Then I guess Ill have to be more careful, huh? Hmm--On the other hand, maybe theres a way to disable the shortcut and still allow me to use my mouse for cut/copy stuff?
