Question

Display Settings in Windows 8.1

Oct 7, 2014 5:43AM PDT

I just bought a new windows 8 laptop but I can't seem to know how to adjust the display to my preference. The write up within the open windows are faint and the screen it not satisfactory. I have to tilt to a particular angle to see clearly.

Please help!!

What model?

I find the Dell Inspirons to be fitted with barely acceptable LCDs. I'm not writing these are bad, but I've seen better.

What model?

Answer
If it's new and less then 30 days take it back.

And if you decide to buy somewhere else refuse to pay the restocking fee. They will wave it if you complain. If the display model has a display you like just exchange it.

Screen display adjust

Move mouse to far right for the vertical menu display (Charm), select SETTINGS then CONTROL PANEL then
APPEARANCE and PERSONALIZATION. Then try CHANGE THE THEME. If you can't get a display you can read (but not right colors yet) then get a new laptop and have them set up the screen for you.

Or take it back and see if they can get a good screen for you. This may be the fastest if within a convenient distance.

The instructions for the mother board and display card (from the website that is the maker of your machine) should have DEFAULT settings. Try those.
