Drivers for the motherboard, video card... from the maker's site. DO NOT RELY ON ANY MICROSOFT "UPDATE DRIVERS" BUTTON. That still does not work.
"if I move the window containing the blank section, it reappears."
A crude workaround is to find "Video acceleration" and set it to none until the drivers issue is cleared up.

Problem: It appears as though the refresh of the screen does not happen as expected. This causes portions of the screen to appear blank, but if I move the window containing the blank section, it reappears. Or, if the window has a scroll bar, moving it seems to bring the text back to visible. I often work in Visual Studio 2008, and it seems to happen most frequently in that environment (i.e. Solution Explorer). But, it also happens in Windows explorer.
I previously had my system installed with Windows XP and experienced no problems. However, since reformatting and installing Windows Vista Enterprise, I have seen this problem.
I have tried updating drivers on my monitors, as well as, the video adapter. Anyone have any other ideas?
Thanks in advance!
