Question

display not working, with receiver and laptop

I hooked up my dish network receiver to my pc using hdmi to hdmi but none of my settings for display is working, I went thru each option on the laptop..computer only, duplicate, extend and projector only, and none work, tells me no projector hooked up...plz help...thanks

What exactly are you trying to do with the devices?

Be more specific on whether you are trying to export content from the DVR to your PC, or recording television programming from your DISH box on your PC, etc.

are you sure the hdmi on the computer is an input?

Those settings are for display output from your PC.

What is the make/model of your PC? I agree with Oldartq, the HDMI on PCs is usually an output for a display device, not an input for a receiver.
