Display Manager has stopped working

Hey all, so I have a Dell studio 15 with vista. I have a 1920x1200 screen and a 1280x1024 external monitor that I hook up when working. About every other time I use the external monitor the screen will blank for a few seconds after an hour of use. A notification will pop up saying the display manager has stopped working, but has recovered. A few times the screen has rapidly started blinking and these notifications have appeared all over the screen, and then it BSODs.

I have all new drivers. I also have windows 7, xp, and ubuntu installed, and none of them have had any problems with the display, so I think it might be some driver conflicts or bad settings or something, not hardware.

Any help is appreciated.
