Display has green tint

by noname808 / January 20, 2014 4:58 AM PST

I have a UN55B6000VFXZA and the display has a green tint to the screen. At times there is a reddish tint as well. I also notice that the white seems to vertically spread... (when i watch the usa channel, there is a vertical band of white background. Then i would have to turn the tv off in order to get rid of it). I have also noticed that at times a screen shot seems to be embedded in the display. This screen shot will last a few minutes or until I turn the tv off and then back on. Even at that, sometimes the screen shot is still vaguely visible. Is this a sign of a failing LED display? I have toyed with the color settings and also tried swapping out the t-con but that does not help. I have also used isopropyl alcohol on a swab to clean the cable contacts to no avail. A TV of this caliber which cost so much should seriously last longer than this!

Does anyone have an idea as to how to fix this problem? Perhaps another t-con or would firmware update work? Or is this TV's display screen a goner? Any help to fix this will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

You need to find a TV repair forum. Here you may get the "arrange for service" answer and my answer is to find the Service Manual and be a TV repair tech. No tech I know gives a diagnosis they will warrant without the manual, the visit and evaluation.

Try AVSFORUM as folk do discuss repairs there.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
