If so we have to swap the drive out to see if that fixes it.

New to this...Have a Dell inspiron 8200...cd drive (d) door will not stay closed...ejects every time closed...tried windows help, set control panel switch. still ejects...please help.

I've seen people try everything for this issue. I share what I do with I see this.
1. Try another drive. And if that doesn't help another data cable also.
2. Some people don't like #1 and refuse to it before they spend a month trying other things in vain.
Let's hope you're not one of the people he mentions in #2!
