Defragmenting is not without danger. 99.999% of the time it will be OK. Can you risk it?

is it unusual?
Jun 6, 2005 10:32AM PDT

Yes, but is it unusual for it to run for that long? do you think it is actually doing defragging? should i stop it?

Yes. It can be unusual.

Your choice on the matter, but others have posted in these forums with the combo of...

a. " I was only running defrag. "
b. " I don't have a copy of what I couldn't lose. "
c. " The power went out. "

or " Something didn't seem right. "

Disk defragmenting for days is not a good sign.
