When i'm tabbed into a game chrome discord ext runs slow and buggy. R6S is the worst offender. tried many fixes none have worked. On discord audio cuts out, chrome Youtube freezes. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Clarification Request
Since we have other browsers.

I'd test this in other browsers since Chrome is essentially an OS with a web browser front end.
You can test Chrome out as time passes and new versions come out for Chrome and Discord but the usual fix is to try the other major browsers.

thank you for response but...

issue still remains and im most concerned about discord as it cuts out audio (both input and output) of people, it seems to be a issue with multitasking

So I don't expect a fix to Chrome.

im almost sure that it isnt a temp issue....

the highest i have seen is 70s and that is after stress testing. running off a m.2 ssd so it wouldnt be a hdd issue.

detailed specs:
msi z270 a-pro
i5 7600k @4.4 /1.1v
8gb ddr4 corsair vengence @2400mhz
kingston 1tb hard drive
kingstone 120gb m.2 ssd

It's unclear to me about Chrome.

Once in a while a client will insist it work on Chrome. If they can't get past that you defer to Google Product forums and Discord's own support.

There is more you can try such as cutting the number of apps since Chrome leans heavy on threads. For example, for W10's update sharing you can burn up a dozen threads. Read about it at

As to your SSD you list a HDD. Did you run a Speccy report and check all SMART values? I find 01 and 07 often tied to performance complaints.

PS. Other sources of performance issues. RAM is not in dual channel mode. VPN use. Heavy apps like mining or torrents.
