Discoloring screen protectors?

Apr 13, 2005 7:35AM PDT

I recently started using screen covers for my Axim X30 and have noticed something I find a little odd. After about a month of usage, a long, verical oval appears in the center of the screen with a black fuzzy outline and normal center. Both the screen and protectors look fine prior to use and no discoloration remains on the screen after the protector is removed (this is definately occurring on the sticky side of the screen protector). Also, I thoroughly clean my screen prior to applying any protectors.

Is this normal, or has anyone else experienced this? Could it just be poorly manufactured screen covers, or possibly caused by an electromagnetic field from the center of my PDA?

Thanks in advance,
John
