Disappointed in LN40A530P

I bought a Samsung LN40A530P on 04/21/08. In April of 2009 it began to randomly turn itself on and off. It would always come back on though so I didn't report the problem. If I unplugged the unit it would take longer than usual to come back on. In July 2009 it turned off. Now it won't come on at all and it is now out of warranty. Too bad I live in Canada and don't get a 3 month extension for registering???
There seems to be a lot of this type of problem reported in the Samsung brand.
