Disabling XP function

by BertNoir / March 16, 2005 3:26 AM PST

Hello, I have just started using XP and I understand that if I install third-party CD software, I should disable XP's built-in recording capabilities. How do I do this. Thanks, Bert

Not really necessary

I never had a problem using Nero even with XP's CD burning capabilities turned on. Unless you're actually using it, it's not likely to conflict with anything.

I use Nero and the XP burning engine at times. I've never experienced a problem or conflict between the two.
They seem to coexist quite happily together.

if you are putting 3rd party cd software such as roxio it is not necessary to disable the built in software. i don't even think that you can without going deep into the xp registry

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
