DirectX Problems

May 6, 2005 1:58AM PDT

Hi,

I'm in reall trouble. I've tried to sort this out myself for hours and I'm just not going anywhere.

I've bought a game "Dawn of War". I tried to install Directx 9.b as that is what it asks for. Unfortunality it says "DirectX did not copy a required file."

It doesn't tell me what the file is. Also I've had an error message pop up that states "The SEINTERFACE.DLL file is linked to missing export DSOUND.DLL:11" whatever that is.

So what am I doing wrong?

My guess.

You'll need to download and install the latest motherboard, sound and vidoe drivers for your machine. Microsoft does NOT provide help for this.

-> Next? You try to update to DX9 again.

-> And??? Does your machine have a real 3D card? If not, this may be a waste of time.

How do I find out if I have a 3 d card and if this unit is capable of using one. This computer was given to me and I know little about it.

Right,

I'll try to find the latest Drivers for my motherboard.

I've been on NIVDA and downloaded the latest graphics drivers.

Sorry I haven't been able to reply for a while, internet connection down.

Thanks
