DirectX10 is supposed to replace DirectX9, but in cases where the latter is specifically needed you can install it without a problem, even with v10 installed...both will run in relative harmony.

I want to play medieval total war 2 on my vista but it keeps saying D3DX9_30.DLL is missing. I tried to download the file but I don't know what to do with it.
So I figured I would just download direct x 9.0c. however on my comp right now I have directx 10. Will downloading 9.0c screw up my comp and get rid of 10 or will they work together?
Thx in advance.
