My brother trains for DirectTV so it's a complicated system requiring a lot of handshaking between maker and DirectTV. If this is a showstopper, just head back to the store and demand a refund/exchange for a working model.

Hi There
I am trying to find out when Samsung intend to release the update to enable the RVU feature on my new TV. I previously had a UN32H5500AFXZA and the RVU connection to my DirecTV system was working well. A couple of weeks ago I replaced that TV with a UN40J6300AF and now when I select the RVU source I get a message saying "Sorry for the inconvinience. This cool feature will be available soon". After talking to Samsung Tech Support (which took a while as they had no idea what an RVU was) I was told that I had to wait for a software update. So on Thursday I got the latest software update (1204 to 1205) and still no RVU feature. I dont understand how you can release a TV without the features being ready, and also it is not a "cool NEW feature" it has been out for a while now.
Thanks in advance for any help on this topic

I apologize for the inconvenience. It looks like it's still in the certification process. You should be updated as soon as the feature becomes available.

R. Proffitt I remember having to jump through all the hoops the first time but this time it is the TV that needs to update.
Samsung HD Tech...do you have a guesstimate time frame for this to be certified and updated to my TV

Coops,
At this time I'm unable to speculate when the update will be released, but I have heard from our headquarters that they are still in the certification process, so hopefully very soon! The television should notify you when the update becomes available.

So after nearly 2 hours on the phone with Tech Support last Friday they finally turn around and tell me that it is DirecTV's fault and it is them who is not certified. I'm not sure how truthful this is as I have not spoken to them yet.
I do find this hard to believe since part of the setup/hand shaking to do this you need to select the RVU Input on the TV and type in a number from the DTV Genie. But when you select the RVU Input on the TV all you get is the message saying "This cool feature will be available soon"
This is starting to get annoying now - 1 month in and still no TV or answers
And it doesn't work. How long till you return it for a working model?
A lot of work has gone in to hanging this TV and hiding all the wires behind the wall. I even talked to Samsung Customer relations department to ask for compensation and all they did was send me back to Technical Support even though I told them I have done that 3 times already.
But I hear what you are saying.....but this latest version is supposed to work.
Something that I dont understand is if you go to the Samsung website this TV is not even listed, only 32" and the 50" upwards.
