direct3D problems

Oct 2, 2004 3:27PM PDT

When I type dxdiag into "run" and check the display tab it seems my Direct3D acceleration and AGP texture acceleration is not available under Direct X features. In the notes section it says "Direct3D functionality not available. You should verify that the driver is a final version from the hardware manufacturer." Im using a S3 trio3D video card and s3mt3d is the main driver. I suspect these problems are the reasons why Sim Theme Park and Black and White crash back to windows. This is a great inconvenience as I get very bored without these games. Any help would be greatly apreciated. Thanks in advance.

Also, I do have the latest version of DirectX installed, and I'm runnin windows NT.

No driver has been written to support those games with that card. Looks like you need to start shopping.

Thanks for the help. One more thing, can you suggest a card that will support these games?

Sadly I can't do that since I know nothing about the host machine.

If it has an AGP slot, the ATI 9700 or better and the Nvidia F5700 or better will likely cost in the 100 buck or less range and be just fine.
