Direct Player - Script Error

Mar 6, 2005 7:00AM PST

Hi All! Happy

I'm trying to install a childs game on my daughter's compaq running 98se.
It continually gives an error box "Direct Player - Script Error" and exits before it ever installs.
Her video card is old, onboard and I've tried to replace it with no success.
She has a sound blaster Creative sound card.

She's got DirectX 9, with the installer update and scripting 5.6 all installed.

What is this and how can I attempt to fix it?

Thanks

The name of the game matters. Example...

Q: When playing Mahjongg ____ , I get a "Script Error" or a "Direct Player" error.
A: Mahjong Towers (and all other Mahjong games) are programmed with Macromedia Director and will give error messages on inadequate tile sets and layouts. Please Click here to enter a support request to report these Script Errors to our development team. Please state exactly where/when they occur (Mode, Tileset, Board, etc).

This error may not be your fault. Your incomplete post does hamper a better answer.

It's a CD. The name of the game is CandyLand.
Licensed by Habro, marketed by General Mills.
I have found a website for Infogrames.
I'm going to check it out now.

BTW: The game plays on her friend's newer pc.
Don't have the details on that....

video card?
Mar 6, 2005 9:05AM PST

Apparently the problem may be the video card (with her computer and mine), a problem that I have been trying to remedy with no success, so far. arrrgggh....lol

Can anyone tell me the difference between a VGA and SVGA?
The game calls for a SVGA and ours are VGA (?)
