Direct Cable connection

Mar 11, 2004 1:31AM PST

Hello
Can I connect a W98SE and an XPPro machines using direct cable connection. I want to be able to at least share files, not necessarily internet connection.
Thanks
Kevin

I do this frequently to copy files from a client's old system to a new one.

The Parallel port works just fine to do this is you have Laplink style cable ($10-20).

Problem is, it is extremely slow.

The best way to do this is to make the WIn98 system the HOST and share the C: drive on it and then connect to it from the XP system and drag the files over.
