Resolved Question

DIMENSION 8300 SECOND HARD DRIVE

Aug 27, 2011 4:01AM PDT

I have installed a second hard drive. I used Norton Ghost 15 to copy my primary hard drive to the second hard drive. What do I need to do to boot from the secondary hard drive?

I think a miracle.

Usually I move the copy to the boot connection. Windows is quite cross if you move that system.

Second hard drive

I wanted to have the second hard drive to use if my primary hard drive failed.

Then why not do that?

When you need it to boot, move it to the boot location.

Some, not all and not any Dell I have, has a BIOS boot selector but again I've seen Windows fail to boot from that selection. That's why we move the drive to the boot location after a clone job.

I am sorry but, I do not know what a boot location is. Would you please explain to me?

In short.

In today's PCs the hard drive that boots is in the boot location. If I want to clone that to another drive I then move the clone to that location and connection.
