Will you get the same if...

you will try to use the alternative installer?

Get the alternative installer of SAS Free at http://downloads.superantispyware.com/downloads/SAS_FREE.EXE
Proceed by installing the alternate version of the installer.
See also: http://www.superantispyware.com/supportfaqdisplay.html?faq=71

If installing is still a problem, make sure there's no existing SAS Free that is maybe corrupted, please run the SuperAntispyware Uninstallation Assistant by downloading it from http://www.superantispyware.com/downloads/SASUNINST.EXE then proceed to re-install SAS Free.

Cannot install Super antispyware

I tried to install the alternative installer also, but i am getting the same result. I am getting the error of unknown publisher and digital signature missing.
I have run SAS unistall and it runs but says could not find SAS files.
The FAQ page alaso gives these suggestions only.

Is there any way i can turn off the digital signature requirement to enable the program to load ?
Also is it safe to do such a thing ?
Please suggest what to do next

Can you try this:
by Donna Buenaventura / March 1, 2009 6:23 PM PST

Open IE>Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab
Click "Restore Advanced Settings"

Next, click the Security tab, reset it to use the default settings.
Click OK to apply your changes.
Close IE.

Try again to install SAS Free. If it failed again, try first to install another tool: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and check if you can install it:
You can also download it from http://www.gt500.org/malwarebytes/mbam.jsp

Update, change the settings of MBAM by click Settings tab and put checkmark on all boxes. Run a quick scan.

If anything is found, allow it to fix the infection (if any).

If you have similar issue (re: digital signature) on MBAM, please go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822798 and follow the possible solutions.

In reply to: Can you try this:

I have already downloaded and run MBAM without any problem.
There was no malware found

I am using Internet explorer 8.0 RC1
In the default settings, the system is checking for the digital signatures .
I can uncheck it if it safe and advised by you.

Please advise

Oh! you're using IE8 beta
by Donna Buenaventura / March 1, 2009 7:17 PM PST

Yes, you can uncheck it but select it again after installing SAS.

BTW, you wrote earlier that you brought this issue with SAS support. I hope you told them too that you're using IE8 beta so see the issue.

Cannot install SAS
by sk30 / March 2, 2009 11:02 AM PST

I unchecked it and tried to install it as recommended
But now i am getting the message that the media is corrupt.

I have tried downloading from several sites and several versions, but always same results.

I have informed SAS team about this and they had suggested that i save the file to disk and rename it to sk30.exe to fool the virus but even that did not help. I am still in touch with them and answering their queries. I have also informed them after IE8RC1

Any further advise ?

you will download SAS Free using alternative browser? e.g. Firefox, Chrome, Opera

Give it a try by downloading SAS free using alternative browser. Save the installer then launch the installer.

A question...
by Donna Buenaventura / March 2, 2009 1:40 PM PST
In reply to: Cannot install SAS

Have you tried to resolve the issue by using the possible solutions by Microsoft at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822798 ?

What firewall software and other security tools do you use?
Try to temporarily disable other program's real-time protection (this should not be necessary but it's worth to try).

Cannot install SAS-Windows help not useful
by sk30 / March 2, 2009 2:13 PM PST
In reply to: A question...

The windows help was not helpful.

I do not get the buttons for more information or to continue with the installation when i get the security warning.
It simply says unknown publisher and digital signature missing and shuts down the installation.

I have trried to switch off Avira & Comodo and tried to install but no use.

I have scanned my computer with MLAM, Avira & Spybot but i got a clean PC verdict.

Is it possible that i still have a stubborn virus/malware despite all these scans ?

Please advise next action.

Two things that you can do:
by Donna Buenaventura / March 2, 2009 10:54 PM PST

1. You might want to remove IE8 RCI and go back to stable version. See if that will allow you to install SAS Free or;
2. If you suspect you have infection that the scanners failed to detect, get HijackThis from http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/_download/HiJackThis.exe
Save HijackThis.exe in a new folder on your desktop.
Open Hijackthis.exe, click "Do a system scan and save a logfile"
After the scan is finished, the notepad will open to display the log.
Copy the entire log information from the notepad to one (1) of the forums below:

1. http://www.lognrock.com/forum/index.php?showforum=5
2. http://forum.securitycadets.com/index.php?showforum=2

4. http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showforum=7
5. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/forum22.html

Let them diagnose or analyze your log file. Close HijackThis window (do not fix anything unless you receive instruction from the HJT analysts)
