but that model hasn't been sold in quite awhile. At $150 it was a great deal, but most of the manufactures are going towards the ultracompact model, which most people want. You used to be able to get a "best bang for the buck" when some of the cameras were larger, but most people wanted something to fit in their front pocket, and so the manufactures followed suit and discontinued the fatter cameras, except in the higher price range.
I used to tell people it was like a desktop vs a laptop, you pay, either in performance or image quality, to get the smaller form factor at the same price point. Even now desktops, at the same price point, outdo laptops in features and performance but they don't have the compact design.
I am looking for a better-than-average digital point and shoot that's a bang for my buck (I'm kind of tight on money right now, so nothing TOO expensive). I've been looking at cameras and so far, the Canon Powershot A590 has piqued my interest. Does anyone have any personal suggestions?
