How do you define long lens? I guess this also ties into your budget. I have an SLR, a Canon EOS 10D that if I had a cool $90,000 I could stick the monsterous 1200mm F5.6L lens on there. By the way SI has 2 of them and there are less than 10 in existance. I think the actual number is between 6 and 8. I have a lens that goes out to 300mm. Is that long enough?
