The last time I looked, you get 20 minutes on the DVD recordable blank.
As to the battery, my JVC came with some 800 mAH battery. I found a 2,800 mAH battery and while it's fairly large, I haven't run out of battery power yet. Plus I have the original 800 mAH battery as backup.
I am looking to go from a standard 8mm camcorder to a digital camcorder and would like some advice. Features that I am currently unhappy with are; transfering video to my pc (via dazzle) and then burning to a DVD, and short battery life (and I use 2). I believe that I want a camcorder that uses a DVD. Is there a reason why I would not want to go that route? Do most camcorder batteries only last 2 hours? I am willing to spend between $400-$900. Is the Hitachi DZ-MV580A a decent camcorder? Thanks for any help!
