Hello,
I have a few question about audio switching in my new LN52A650A1F. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I plan on connecting a Samsung BD-P1500 and Motorola DCT3412-1 to the LN52A650 via HDMI (with Blue Jeans F2 cables), and route the digital optical audio to an older Arcam AVR100 receiver, which supports Dolby Digitial and DTS. I currently have an older Pioneer Elite DV-37 DVD player outputting bitstream to this receiver, which plays DD 5.1 and DTS without issue. The audio from the DCT3412 is currently connected to the receiver via a coax digital audio cable, and DD 5.1 also plays without issue.
Will the LN52A650 correctly switch the audio signal from the HDMI inputs to the digital audio out such that the receiver can play DD 5.1 and/or DTS? If so, how should I configure audio in the LN52A650? I have read online reports that only stereo signals are switched out in this configuration.
I am also considering getting an upscaling DVD player (probably a Samsung 1080P
that loads these discs quickly for my impatient nine year old, and connecting it to the LN52A650 via HDMI as well. Would the audio from this device be switched to the LN52A650's digital audio out as well?
Lastly, I would like to connect my Wii to the LN52A650 via a component cable; however, I haven't been able to find any such cable that physically permits the audio connectors to reach a separate device. If I connect both the video and audio to the LN52A650, will the Wii audio be switched to the digital audio out as well?
Note that the LN52A650 box has a sticker indicating that a software update has been performed; however, I haven't unpacked the box yet.
Thanks,
Ira
