Digicam LCD

by hdegrijs / January 4, 2007 2:49 PM PST

A thin white line about 2 mm long appeared on the LCD. It can be seen with camera on and off. It's definitely not a surface scratch. Camera is 1.5 yrs and had never been subjected to heat or cold, nor mishandling. Otherwise, it works fine. Does anyone have an answer?

If we knew the make and model of the camera, that would be helpful.

How far is this thin white line from the edge of the LCD?

It's a Canon A510. 1/4" from top & 1/2" from right of LCD edge.

Canon A510 LCD line

I could not find any mention of a white line on the LCD when I searched a Canon users group.

There was a mention of a colored line.
But it sounded like the camera had to be turned on.
They said it was mentioned on page 127 of the User's Manual.

Usually if there is an internal crack on an LCD it starts at one edge.
But your description does not fit a cracked LCD.

.....

Anyone else have an idea???
