Question

digi cam--will not turn on--She is comatose!

Jul 24, 2011 5:36AM PDT

First, a thank you to all who offer their knowledge to those of us who are in need of solutions, ideas, advice, and etc. Your generosity is cool.

My digital camera will not turn on.

She is a Fujifilm FinepPix S3000 (circa 2004)
( No. 4CA58527).

She has NEVER failed me, as I treat her well. Last week, she betrayed me.

Suddenly, she will not turn on despite the many things I have tried to slove the problem. Here they are:

I have installed numerous batteries known to be good, rechargables and normals.

I hooked her to my comp using my USB as if to upload photos...nothing.

I searched the net and found the same thing occuring for others with the same model. The advice was to clean the battery contact, make certain that contact was made, or to cleaned the power button with rubbing alcohol, a bit of WD-40, taking care not to saturate the inner workings of the camera and to dry the battery compartment (etc) using a hairdryer. Some had succes with this method, but some have not, nor have I.

She still remains comatose.

Can anyone suggest a cure, website, idea that may bring her back to life?

Your expertise is needed and I thank you ahead of time.
