General discussion

Different types Peripherals

I need to understand Peripheral cables a little more. My brother purchased a new computer and monitor. There was very little information with it. Two peripheral cables came with it,one white, one black. I figure the black one had something to do with audio. We connected the black one to the computer and everything seems to be fine, but I am wondering what the white one is supposed to do. Could it have something to do with video? I didn't try to see if there was a connection for both. Since everything including video works,I didn't mess with it anymore, but just curious to know more about the cables. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance,
Red

That's not the typical color code but you could have one for speak audio and another for microphone input.

In such situations as these, check the support website. If anything, it may list what a product should contain when brought. Thus a listing may say besides two cables enclosed, what they are in plain terms, like speaker cable and A/V cable, RCA RGB cable, etc.. For us to help further, you should at least provide what the heck you're posting about, model#, brand, etc., otherwise we can only guess. Better yet, post a link of pix to help.
