Question

Different Amps for LG G5 battery

Aug 16, 2016 2:08AM PDT

I bought a new LG G5 and I want to buy another charger for it but I can't find an original charger and found a charger that gives more amps(2.4) than my original charger(1.6). Can the more amps affect on the phone's battery and what is the impact of chargers with low or high amps on the phone's battery ?

If it's less amps it takes longer. If it's more amps it isn't used up to its full capacity, but it won't harm. A too high voltage is harmful, but the usual 5 V USB-voltage is fine.

Only draw what it needs. For example a mains wall socket can usually supply 15 Amperes but the lamp here uses only what it needs (LED is about 0.1 Amperes.)

Your higher amperage charger may or may not result in faster charging than the original.
