The v2500 is the standard Bravia TV. The XBR sets have always been the higher models, and in this case, the XBR2/3 has a different video processor. Not sure about the v2500, but the XBR2/3 scales SD and HD material to 1080p. I know the Bravia is 1080p too, but as I seem to recall, one of the newer Sony sets scaled both SD and HD, so even 1080i was scaled to 1080p, while the lesser model only scaled SD and left the HD material alone, so 1080i was left at 1080i. I think this is what I understood. But in any case, the XBRs have always been the top of the line for Sony.
I know the only difference between the sony xbr 2 and 3 is the glossy finish on the 3 but what is the difference between the xbr sets and hte the v2500 below it??? (better panel response time? upscale capabilities? fetches the newspaper in the morning?)
I've researched this immensely but can't get a definitive answer. If there is a significant differnce I'll cough up the extra money otherwise I'm going with the 40v2500. Someone with some knowledge on sonys help me out here. THANK YOU!
