Question

Difference between Dell Latitude e6420 and e6420 ATG

Feb 26, 2016 9:53AM PST

Is there a difference between a Latitude e6420 and a Latitude e6420 ATG? What does the 'ATG' denote?

More importantly, do they both use the same AC adapter/charger?

Thanks very much for your help....

Answer
The letters "ATG" stand for "All Terrain Grade"

A fast look says same charger but look closer at the ATG charger to see if it's tougher.

Parting thought. DO NOT BUY FROM COMPANIES THAT DON"T ANSWER PRE-SALE QUESTIONS.

It's a sign they won't answer questions later.

All Terrain Grade? I can't imagine what that's all about. I'll assume from your response that the same charger will work on both models.

Thanks.

That's worse.

If the seller and maker won't talk to you and explain ATG, imagine if your interactions later.

Definitely not a good seller or maker.

That said, I've never had a truly bad discussion with Dell reps. I wonder if this is new for 2016?

Further conversation with seller finds that the offered unit has output voltage of 19.5v and 4.62amps. My original unit has 19.5v and 6.7amps.

Is the difference in amperage critical?
