SE was under attack...

by someone who was dredging up old posts and replying with a nonsense spam message; same one each time. Modes seem to have fixed it.

In reply to: SE was under attack...

as that person was replying to every search made for the word 'man' in the subject line....Some illiterate porn queen dredging up customers evidently. heheheh

I haven't found any new ones for the last half hour or so as I was deleting them as soon as I located them all over the forums...some within a few seconds behind the post going up.

Isn't it possible to trace the IP and ban that?
by Jimmy Jazz / October 10, 2005 2:48 AM PDT

If the same person has been doing this before and now he/she is using a dead person's name, isn't that a reason to really look into it?

You have no idea what you're talking about

The person was NOT using DE's name to post with....it just so happened that one of the threads she DID post in was a very old thread from 2004 and it was one that had DE's post in it. The person has already been banned. You don't ban IP numbers because there are such a large number of people using the same IP that we would effectively be banned a slew of either current members or potential ones from entering.

Which is why so many of our banned members find a way to get back in........and become the same PITA that got them banned in the first place.

Was that meant to be an educational comment or an angry comment? And what was the user name? You seem to know it was a female poster so who was it?

Please Toni, don't just tell me that it is none of my business even if it isn't, there are ways and ways of saying things as you know. Hence my reaction to your subject line. It would be much nicer to get a reply like "Here is how it works" or something like that. You clearly show your disgust/hatred or simple non-symapthy toward my person byt the was you reply and I sort of don't like to that, since I think you as a moderator should treat all members equal.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
