Did not get Upgrade email from MS

Oct 22, 2009 3:05PM PDT

Several months back, I purchased a Win7 Home Premium upgrade from Microsoft. They said I would receive an email with the download link and license key today. Well, today is almost over and NOTHING! Did anyone else that purchased this last June receive anything yet?

Tnx, Bob

Well

Well, in such a case, call up Microsoft and tell them you didn't receive your email and ask if they could resend it.

Also be sure to check your email spam folder.

I also thought it wasn't until July that MS started offering Win7 upgrade coupons, and that they were generally done through the computer makers.

Did not get my email either

I did not get my email either, and yes I did pre-order back in july. I just logged onto my MS Store account and there it allowed me to download Windows 7 and it also displayed my key.

I Got the e-mail but...
Oct 23, 2009 11:37AM PDT

I bought the upgrade Home version (hope it works on XP) from Best Buy in June when they offed it for $49.99. I got a e-mail from them 10/21 saying it shipped out and is on the way. Well I'm still waiting. In Sundays paper in their ad they offered over night delivery if you preorder this week, so I thought for sure they would over night mine, especially seeing that I bought it 4 months ago.

Check your Junk Folder

I too was anxiously waiting for the email from Microsoft. Finally, I checked and sure enough, I had received the email but it went straight to the Junk folder on my Gmail account. So check your Junk mail folder for the email.

Upgrading from XP To Windows 7
Oct 23, 2009 6:44PM PDT

I don't believe upgrading from XP to Windows 7 will work. As I recall. Microsoft said a full install of Windows 7 from XP was necessary.

There is a difference

Windows 7 will upgrade XP, but you have to do a clean install. You do not need the "full" install. This subject has been on many internet sites.

Windows 7...What no patience
Oct 25, 2009 1:53AM PDT

Is everyone a spoil, instant gratification, IT geek who expects an email by the end of the day......c'mon.....there could be MILLIONs of people pre-ordering W7 at 1/2 price....give the company a chance. I am sure MS is paying more attention to the marketing and roll-out shows then to making sure their email servers are configure to send out the email.

I receive my email Friday morning with a time stamp of ~~6.00am PST. I requested a the DVD. I was only slighted disappointed I did not received an email by midnight. As for the best buy comment.....Yes it makes perfect business sense to provide you an item at 1/2 price and pay a ridiculous overnight shipping charge just because you pre-order. Go study the number 1 of business...to make a profit.

What a generation!

They Offered

They offered the over night delivery last week, not in my case but to people who were preordering it last week. So I was just hoping they would do the same for me since they had my $ for 4 months and made a lot more then $8 on it. Plus MS probably sold it to them for $25.

Still no word from on upgrade here.
Oct 26, 2009 3:54AM PDT

I still haven't received an email (yes, I checked spam) nor has any info been posted to my Microsoft Store account.

From my Vista order invoice:

? Your copies of Windows 7 will be available Oct. 22, 2009.
? On Oct. 22 you will receive an e-mail with promo codes and information as to how to redeem your copies.

Seems like they should either keep their promise or notify customers. It's not like they didn't have advanced warning.
