Did I Miss Something? User Name and Password

Nov 29, 2004 6:49AM PST

I logged onto this forum earlier today and had to enter my user name and password as usual. I logged off and later logged on again and, much to my surprise, it remembered my user name and password!
Is this a new perk? (I like it!)

Yes DC. They did that about a month ago. There are a couple of threads about the whole deal in the Forum Feedback Forum. As long as you don't actually sign out, it will remember you.If you go to the Forum index page, it shows you as a guest but if you click on a forum link, you ARE signed in. It's nice for sure LOL

DC, Yep, Hold On To Your 'Cookie'
Nov 29, 2004 7:11AM PST

As Rod mentioned, it's been working for a short while now but it's certainly a "perk". I like it too. Remember, if you clear your "cookies" folder, you'll need to log in again.

Hope this helps.

Grif, I use 12Ghosts Wash and have already have the c/net cookie marked as an exception so it doesn't get deleted.
Roddy32 said it happened about a month ago. At that time I was involved in other matters and was not very attentive to this forum. I won't let that happen again as I am putting this forum back in its rightful place at the top of my priority list.

It wasn't announced but
Nov 29, 2004 8:22AM PST

It had been under discussion on a couple of threads in the Forum Feedback. This announcement from Lee Koo was November 5th (NOT quite a month) and it was inside another thread so the only way that I knew about it was because I was following the threads about it. Like I said in my previous post if you go to the Forum index page, it will not show you as signed it and also if you go to the login page it won't show you as signed in BUT if you go to any of the forums instead, you are actually signed in once you have saved the cookie the first time. This is Lee's announcement.Grin
