Personally, I have no use for and don't go out of my way to listen to extremists so would avoid watching this. Those who do will mostly be the ones who only want to cheer him on or boo him anyway. If he gave them a show, that's what they came for. Some know how to be heard but don't know how to be listened to.
address to CPAC? So far as I could see, they covered his entire speech with no breaks and no analysis. If so, what did you make of his use of gang signs viz. thumping his chest with the top of his fist, doing closed fist "knuckle punches" with other people on the stage, and a style of address verging on hysteria, at least in my opinion? Was it all just posturing to shore up his corner of the base or was there something more there? I thought he looked a little strange and disquieting, frankly.
This is a request for opinion on his performance, not an invitation for discussion of his opinions in detail or of our personal political opinions which we all know already.
I personally was greatly dicomfited by his vehemence, and his warping of fact and complete fabrications. Regrettably I didn't watch it with a note pad on my lap, or I might be able to be more specific. The one thing that I recall was his comment regarding somebody talking happily about the end of the Reagan Era, and his saying that nobody celebrated the end of the FDR Era, particularly when Rush himself said almost exactly that shortly after Reagan was elected. He certainly celebrated the change of priorities and made many comments regarding FDR and the move away from his principles.
