I can't imagine him gone. I grew up watching him. He seemed like he would go on forever.

......probably know him best from the New Year's Rockin' Eve shows and maybe things like the Bloopers show and $25,000 Pyramid, and may not realize what a trailblazer he was. He put black artists on Bandstand when music was still very segregated, and had black & white kids dancing together when there were many places in the US where that was not permitted. Chuck Berry acknowledged him in the lyrics to "Sweet Little Sixteen."

I'd put **** Clark right up there with Alan Freed in terms of his impact on popular music.
