dial up connection with an incoming phone call

Nov 24, 2003 5:31PM PST

one of my clients had windows xp home ed. When they are on the internet they want to be disconnected from the net whenever a phone call comes in so they can take the call. It currently just registers as a busy signal. this didn't happen with their last computer. my thoughts are that it has to do with the modem setting and not xp. Any thoughts on this?

Where I live *70, defeats call waiting and gives the caller a busy signal. Perhaps such a system was not activated on the new install?

http://www.56k.com/reports/callwait.shtml Complete. Covers what modem models and other devices may work.

What's this about a "client"? My response is this: If you use my advice or information found by a link I provide, then I state that it's PUBLIC information, FREE OF CHARGE to who you convey said information to. It would be inconsiderate to charge for such.

Bob,

I am building a web site for a guy who asked me this question. I told him I would post the question on here to see if anyone knew. He is not paying for this, I was just doing him a favor.
