I don't repeat the web but with no more Net Neutrality the ISPs can change without notice. That is they can drop packets they don't feel they need to carry. Sad changes that can have effects like you are reporting.
I have some problems with DDNS , port forwarding etc. .
A few weeks ago I set up a dynamic dns service with dyndns.org , I have configured the Netgear router DGN2200M and also TeamViewer on a notebook in a way that wake-on- lan function works.
It was all set up correctly because everything worked. Now , however, it no longer works, and I do not think I changed any settings .
The first thing that I noticed that if I type in any browser <myhostddnscomplete> I always get the "The server is taking too long to respond ..." problem., but when it worked it all looked directly at the window with a request for credentials to access the router.
I thought the IP was not updated by the router, but it is not because I checked on the router and on the website of dyndns.org
In fact, the oddity is that if I go to the < myhostddnscomplete:8080> , or by adding the port dedicated for remote management of the router everything works : I can connect to my router.
I then made another attempt : by having a Netgear ReadyNAS Duo NAS connected to the router , I enabled on this the FTP service on port 21 . In the course I set the router 's routing port 21 to the IP address ( on the lan ) static of the NAS . It works: I access to the shared folders on the NAS by typing "ftp:/ / < myhostddnscomplete >"
Recheck my notebook , on teamviewer and router settings for wakeonline : all configured like instructions from teamviewer.com. Hardware correctly configured, the address given to teamviewer is < myhostddnscomplete> , the port 9 .
On the router is set to port 9 IP routing ( LAN ) Static notebook . But it does not work.
So I decided to go to the site http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ and test the port opening.
21 ... ok ; 9 .... FAILED ! ! 7,10,11,21,65533 ( set open or not) .... ALWAYS CLOSED
Recheck , reboot the router , delete and set the firewall rule again but it still does not work . Any other port I try to open in the router I find it closed. Teamviewer works and log onto my laptop remotely, but because the laptop has already started. If it is turned off I can not turn it on. And I need to be able to do!
I suspect that the problem is in the router but I can not find it . Any idea ??
