Question

device won't connect

Dec 9, 2011 7:10AM PST

I am running vista windows 6.0.6002 and i recently updated my iphone to icloud. OK thats not the issue but the problem is that when I plug in my phone to my pc the auto play button won't give me the option to select a device or add a device. So the Apple store connected me to Microsoft and they connected to my pc and said that they need to go in and fix my junk folder and it would cost me $169.00. So I disconnected from them. I wasn't even sure if it was safe. Anyway does anyone know how to connect and make my auto play work?

Clarification Request
Never found a junk folder on Vista.

And newer security software as well as Microsoft turns off autoplay because of recent security breaches.

No make or model but I hope my mention of autoplay helps you find it.

So I went to the cloud on my iphone and then I don't have to use auto play on itunes. Then I bought System Mechanic and that cleaned out the computer. Its running better. Everything else worked on auto play except itunes. I really don't like Vista and if I ever get another pc I will get windows 7. Thanks for your response.
