I've heard that before and for me the tech gives me back time and lets me communicate in new ways.
There are folk that demand what your wrote so why not live by your words?
That is, I go my way and you go yours. Just because I go with what may not work for you, why should I pressure you to buy that thing?
Technology should provide the user a measurable return on $$ invested. Steve Jobs supposedly said in an interview (I'm paraphrasing), "customers doesn't always know what they need".
MSRP + Hidden costs (Environmental externalities, tech support time, etc.) = TOTAL COST. How much time elapses before any new product pays for itself? .....or does the new "nifty factor" make newest stuff invaluable?
