reset the router you are using after the Westell modem/router.
Then log in to your router(not the Westell)
change the LAN setup ip to 192.168.7.1 (Westell is using 192.168.1.1 same as your router)
Try this and see if you can connect. If you can connect, then add your security back on (WPA key)
I use Verizon DSL connected to a Westell modem/router then connect using a Netgear WGR614v6. Below are my settings, if they help you. I connect 3 laptops and a wireless print server connected to my printer using WPA security. I allow my SSID to show. It's secure and I have the option to allow someone that comes over to the house connect. I will NOT give them the password but I will enter it for them. I do NOT use words. I use a combination of letters and numbers that is about 12 letters long. The longer the key, the harder to crack it.

Network system setup:
Dell computer/ server with MS Server 2003 OS
SMC Barricade Router (1 WAN, 4 LAN)
3-COM 16 port HUB
Westell DSL modem from Verizon (booooooo!!!)
All Ethernet, no wireless
Nine workstations running on XP Professional
Network wiring:
Phone jack to dsl modem to WAN port on router
Workstation Ethernets to hub
LAN port #1 from router to hub
1 ethernet cable from hub to server NIC card
Everything worked just fine till a power outage for 2 days. Then?
Problem ? dsl connection started going screwy, intermittent connectivity, finally lost forever over past weekend. Finally got Verizon level 3 techie to help connect server to Verizon via direct connection from server NIC to dsl modem (network disconnected!) Verizon had me reconfigure server to connect via PPPoE (which I did not have previously, I?m almost sure!!!) So it wasn?t Verizon cause I had DSL. Naturally once I hooked up network, I could NOT connect to Verizon even at server. Finally I figured out I had to re-configure the router so I put the PPPoE settings into the router. Now the router talked to the dsl on the WAN side but still could not get LAN side to connect. I played with TCP/IP settings in server, removed the PPPoE settings in the server that Verizon made me do, started and re-started and re-started server and router and finally I can get server to connect through the router to the Internet using the network wiring referenced above. BUT still cannot get workstations to connect to Internet. The workstations can connect and exchange info to the server (though slower than ever before) but not the internet!! I?m at a loss but figure I must need some re-configuration at the workstations, like maybe TCP/IP? Don?t know what to do and we are going on 4th day without Internet from workstations!!!!!
Can anyone please help? For what it?s worth I ran ipconfig on one of the workstations. DNS is the server as I think it should be. Gateway is the router. Look forward to any help and thank you!
