Desktop/Wallpaper

I have many pictures in here that I dont know how they got there, dont remember putting them in there, they are pictures I scanned and have in my picture folder. Also have a slideshow of them in screen saver, trying to remove them and cant find out how. I hope there are ways to do it without editing registry. TIA. Have Win XP HE SP 1. Ronnie

When you copy an image file to C:\Windows for example Coffee Bean.bmp, BMP and such files will show in this list. To remove them from the list, move them out of the Windows directory.

For the slideshow screensaver, mine may work differently, but it's SETUP button will show what you can do. Some will be nonplused that not a lot of options are supplied.

The problem, if you wish to call that a problem, is that Windows will look for picture files with the .bmp extension (Windows bitmap) at the "My Pictires" folder, and copy them to the screen savers list at the Windows folder. The slide show is there because with XP, there is a facility for such at the 'My Pictures' folder. So, your solution is to move the pictures to another folder. You can create a new folder and name it appropriately, e.g. 'From Scanner', 'Digital Photos', etc.
