desktop suddenly unloads???

Jul 14, 2007 10:27PM PDT

i've scan my pc with avg antispyware and norton antivirus, my pc is firewall protected and there haven't been any intrudtion attempts so far, no the problem with my pc is that the desktop, the entire desktop would disappears without warning, then reappears again after 7 seconds, kinda like how you terminate explorer.exe and then the dektop disppears and reappears.

now i was wondering if this is atually a sign that my 1 year old SATA hardrive is failing, seeing how there's no spyware and virus on my pc, though i have recently been messing around with MSAGENT files (adding clippy as an addtional character in the windowsXP search function, and installing cyberbuddy, which is spyware free according to softpedia) so i guess my question is weather the whole desktop disappearing is due to hardrive beginning to fail...thanks for the help

I doubt it's a HDD problem. First check for loose Monitor cables. If you have a spare monitor try that. ID the Video card and google for the latest driver. It sounds like Monitor, Or Video card or could possibly be excessive heat causing some component to fail, Have you cleaned out the dust?
